Borschette (1985 - 2007) (Chette to her friends) was first and foremost a great "mommy". She is shown here with her 24 hour old American Warmblood filly, Dafydd's Dolly, foaled April 27, 1997. Before she became a broodmare, Borschette was a thoroughbred race horse. She comes from a very proud lineage.

After only 10 weeks under saddle, Borschette placed 3rd in two dressage classes at the Summer Sizzler Series at Canterbury in Florida, and seemed to really enjoy herself at her first competition.
Here is Borschette at a Horse Show at Basingstoke Farm, on August 15, 1998. Borschette placed 1st in her Dressage class, Intro Test II. She scored 65% with her Junior rider, Vel Hutcheson She had not been ridden since she retired from the track as a 4 year old in 1989. Borschette also placed well in the 2' fences class.
Here is Borschette competing in the jumping class, at the show held on Basinstoke Farm. Borschette enjoyed jumping as much as she enjoyed Dressage, even though she had never seen jumps or jump standards before, she was confident, and willing to try the open cross country course.
